JOB TITLE: OUTREACH WORKER
KEY DUTIES
* The purpose of the job is to provide a community outreach service
supporting women experiencing domestic abuse.
* To case manage clients one to one and deliver programmes in a
group work setting.
* To undertake court accompaniment, assist women with court
applications and post court support along with other members of the
outreach team
* Attend court hearings and give evidence as required.
* To provide a community prevention and early intervention service
for families in the community experiencing domestic abuse.
* To network and create community awareness of referral paths and
the issue of Domestic Violence
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
* A MINIMUM OF 3 YEARS RELEVANT EXPERIENCE WORKING IN A SOCIAL CARE
SETTING OR RELATED CONTEXT WITH WOMEN/ FAMILIES/CHILDREN
* Third level Qualification at degree level in social care, social
science, or related field
* Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge and understanding of
domestic violence
* Excellent knowledge and understanding of the challenges and issues
affecting women and children experiencing domestic violence
* Understanding and working knowledge of Domestic Violence
Act/Children?s First Legislation/Child Care Act
* Risk assessment/Safety and Care planning knowledge is essential
* Ability to lone work safely
